Sew... What?

Hey guys! :D

So, how are you all? Looking forward to the weekend? I have a party to go to tomorrow - my cousins' 21st. :3 It's going to be a load of fun!

Well, today I thought I'd post up something hat I'm doing for school - Sewing! I recently finished my Pillow case, which was my first sewing project for the year.

 The front of the pillow
The back of the pillow - the buttons is how I stop the pillow from coming out of it's case.

I designed the pattern by myself. I ended up making the case a touch too big, so it's slightly baggy, but otherwise I was quite pleased with how it turned out.

So after I finished the pillow case I was very proud and pleased, and I decided to get straight on to making a Cosplay outfit. However Mum thought that was a bad idea, and suggested making clothes for myself as a start for making a Cosplay outfit. So I've decided to work on making skirts first so that I can make my way to dresses and then, eventually, a Sailor Jupiter costume.
I searched the web for some free patterns yesterday, and I found some really cool skirt patterns that I want to do.

The easiest one is the Five Minute Skirt, which will be my first project for making a skirt. I've already got my measurements down, now it's just a matter of buying fabric (Anyone know wher I could buy some Ninjago themed fabric? :P). Then once I've finished it, I have a go at either making a Hemless A-Line Skirt or a Circle Skirt. I'll probably make both, because I really like the two of them, but I might just go with the A-Line Skirt.
After I've made them and my sewing is really good, I'll progress to the XOX Skirt, Tulle Skirt and the Wide Pleat Wrap Skirt. I love all three of those skirts, so I'm Definitely gonna make all three of them. :3

And once I've made them I'll be looking for dress patterns. :3

And after that I'll make my Sailor Jupiter Cosplay, and then I'll make a Ninjago cosplay outfit. X3

Anyways, it's a lovely day today and I don't want to miss much of the nice weather (It's Autumn, but today is totally a Summer day!), plus I need to figure out what to wear to tomorrow's Medieval Faire and the birthday party. Oh, and I have work tomorrow. Daymn, I'm busy...

Ok, well, be good, and I'll see you on Monday (hopefully!)

Movies and Acting for Spinj

Hallo all!

Wowzie! So this last weekend has been kinda hectic! I'm so exhausted by it that I slept in really late this morning. xD

So on Friday I got to be an Extra for the WA Screen Academy's film Tryptophan! I don't know too much about it, apart from the fact that it'll be going into a competition of some sort and might go onto Channel Nine next year.
I got there early, and I headed down to a nearby house, where the makeup department had set up. I got to pick what colour of lipstick I wanted to wear, so I went with a pinky colour to match my magenta top. :3
We headed down to the set, which was a nice little cafe, and started the filming! I was paired up with another Lady, and had to act as be her daughter. The Lady was very nice, and I had quick chats with her between breaks.
So the scene I'm in is a street scene out the front of a cafe. I walk around a corner and try not to bump into a drunk guy. :P You can see my Dad in it too.

The Co-Prudocer/Director (I'm not sure which he is, I was told he was directing it but my email said he was the Co-Producer) said that he's filming another movie next month that's based in the 1960's, and said that he'll give me the details so that I can be an Extra in that was well. I'm so excited!

On Saturday I had work, then stayed home for the rest of the day.

On Sunday I had a rehearsal for Pirates of Penzance. We were reviewing the music, because it's sounding a little sloppy because some of the people are forgetting the rhythms and the words.
And yesterday I had another rehearsal for Pirates, plus a Costume check! It was really cool getting to put on our costumes and making sure that they fit. We were going to have hats for one of the costumes, but thankfully the director doesn't like them, so we're not wearing them. I'm really pleased, because not only did I look awful wearing the hat, none of them fit me. But now I have to figure out what kind of hairstyle I'll need to use.

OK, I gotta go now. :3 I'll catch you all later!

Awesome Ninjago Music Videos

Hey Guys,

What did you think of yesterday's post? :) Like it?

Well, today I thought I'd post up some of my favourite Music Videos - Ninjago ones, that is. I don't get to share this kind of stuff with my friends IRL because most of them hate Ninjago, so yeah...

First up is by +CuteBlueCherri! It's called "Wu/Garmadon/Lloyd - ♪Breaking the Habit". It's a 3 minute video based around Lloyd, Sensei Wu and Garmadon, and the song is by Linkin Park.

Second up is by +j4bether. It's "Ninjago Call Me Maybe", and is about Jay and Nya. I love how it starts off, with Sensei, Nya and Jay all saying one word each. Brilliant!

Third is also by CuteBlueCherri, and it's called "Ninjago -♪ Not Alone". The song is by Red. The video is kinda sad, and it really gets into the feels - or so I find (I cried for the first 30 times I watched it...).

Fourth is by +Jynxi Jaymes and it's "Ninjago-You're Gonna Go Far Kid". Love both the song and the video. x3

Fifth is by +TheFoldMusic, who are my favourite band!! It's called "LEGO NINJAGO Enter the Tourament", and heck, I'm in love with this song. x3 Just so you know, The Fold do some of the Music for Ninjago, so Enter the Tournament is an official Ninjago Song.
  FIYAAAAAAAAA!

Six is The Fold's song "Ninja Roll". Just plain Awesome.

And last, and certainly not least, another Ninjago song by The Fold: LEGO NINJAGO Tournament Whip! The Weekend Whip has now been redone several times, and the latest version of it - this one - is totally awesome!! Specially love the way Skylor fights her battle in it.

Well, gotta run, school starts soon and I haven't had breakfast. :P

 Catch y'all later!

Gibson Tuck | Hairstyles

Hello everyone! How are you?

Today I thought I'd post up a hairstyle. This one is my very favourite one, as it's really lovely and is rather simple to do. First, how I came across this hairstyle...

So I was in town yesterday with my parents, and as part of the Anzac Long Weekend there was a swing dance event going one at the Piazza. We were down there, and there were three tents with different things in them - a free facepainting and balloon tent, a free barber tent, and a free hairstyle tent.
I went to the hairstyle tent, and there as the choice of Pincurls, Victory Rolls, or the Gibson Tuck. I went with the Gibson Tuck, because it looked prettier to me. :P
 Here is the back view:

It looks awesome, doesn't it?

Well, this morning I decided to have a go at doing the Tuck. The first time it was rather messy and shoddy looking, mainly because I had no idea what I was doing. So I went onto the web to find some tutorials.

The easiest, and simplest one to do is this one. It's quick, easy, and is best for learning:

It doesn't sit quite as high as my one does, but I reckon there'd be a way to change that.

Then I found these on the web. Number 1 is simpler, while Number 2 is slightly fancier. Number 3 is more like what I had in the photo.

Number 1:

 Number 2:

 Number 3:

Out of all of these, I like 3 the best; it's more my style. Which one do you like best?

Global Warming?

Hello everyone! :D

How are y'all? :) Had good weeks so far? Looking forward to the  weekend? :)

So, I was doing my work for an essay, and for some reason it reminded me about something that has been lurking in my mind since I went to the Ben&Jerry's free Scoop Day...

Which is Global Warming.

So when I was waiting in the line for a free ice cream one of the Ben&Jerry's workers came over. She asked if we knew the real reason for the Scoop Day, and I said no. So she went into the history about how it started to raise Global Warming awareness. After that she asked if we'd sign the Petition that Ben&Jerry's was holding to cut down Global Warming. I signed the petition, and my Dad did as well.

And, after that, something started whirring in my mind again.

Look at the ice cream in that picture above. Read the writing. Now, replace that melting blob of ice cream with a melting earth. You get something that looks like this:

Now then, if there is one thing most people hate, it's when their ice cream melts. But it appears that most people can't seem to get that if global warming goes too far, we'll have more than melted ice cream to worry about.
And a lot of people go on about how 'We must stop global warming'. But here's a question for you: how many people say that, but do nothing?
Answer is a lot.  So do they actually care about it, or are they pretending that they do?

So as I thought about that kind of stuff, I remembered what I did when I was younger.

  •  At one point I went and helped plant trees (they were less than a foot tall) in a parklands in Adelaide with my brothers and their friend.
  •  My friend came around for a sleepover one day, and we had five hours before her mum turned up, so we created "Save The Planet" leaflets to put in letter boxs. They said "Help Save the Planet! Why use the car when you can walk, ride a bike, or use public transport?". We actually got the neighbours to stop driving their car to the supermarket, which was three streets away.
  •  Tried to start a "Save the Planet" club. Got as far as writing club rules...
  •  I did that leaflet thing again with some different friends at the beginning of 2013. We don't know if it worked, but we definitely found two of the leaflets (which had been trodden on) on the pavement a day later...
That was the most I could do at the ages of 9-13. But, now that I'm older and am more focused on different things, I reckon I can help do a lot more. Of course,I can't do too much, but I'm planning on giving it all I've got, by cause I want to live in a better world.

There are many things people can do. Here's a list:

  •  Get rid of your car, and buy a bike
  •  Use public transport
  •  Do car pooling - use it to get to work, school, or parties
  •  Fill up your garden - try growing your own veggies, and trow in some fruit trees. Or make a flower garden with a pond and some native flowers, and maybe some trees.
  •  If you live in an apartment block, and have a balcony, fill the balcony with pot plants. Flowers, small trees and small bushes will not only help to shade your balcony, it will help to keep the house cool.

I could list more, but I'll leave it at that. Because you will also have to do your own brainstorming to help contribute.

Also, sign the Ben&Jerry's Petition: http://www.benandjerry.com.au/values/issues-we-care-about/climate-justice

Also, did you know that LEGO want to be fully powered by things like Wind and Solar power by 2020?

UWA and Stories

Hey Guys!!

How are all of you? :) Going well?

I went to UWA yesterday. It was loads of fun! My favourite part of the day was probably Percussion Workshop, lunch time and Symphony Chorus. In the workshop we all got to play an instrument each - I had a djembe. Paul Tanner (who was running that workshop) then gave people their own rhythms. It was amazing how well everyone kept in time with each other!
At lunch my two friends who study at UWA showed me around a little bit, and I had a bit of a chat with them. And I met a couple of their friends too.
Symphony Chorus was soooooooo cool! We got to sing in Hebrew, and I don't think I pronounced anything properly, but heh, oh well. It did sound amazing though.

Once again, by going to UWA, I have been reminded just how badly my sight-singing is. :P I really need to get back into the hang of doing it. XD

Here's a photo from the day:

I'm the one with the bow in my hair. In other words, the person closest to the camera. :P
I dunno who took this photo, but it's also on facebook, by the UWA School of Music page. :) It's from when we were doing the Percussion Workshop with Paul Tanner.

I've also been doing story writing again. :) Some of you who have been reading Rise of the Nerds on my LEGO Blog will have noticed that I've started putting up new chapters! I'll have another up after I've written this. :P
I've also been writing "Another World", which is about a girl and how she tries to be the good person she knows she is, but slowly turns into the Monster that the world thinks and assumes she is. It's hard trying to write it, but certainly fun. :3

 (Made by MasterOshawott)

Well, I have to go, gotta post up the next chapter of Rise of the Nerds and then go to get ice cream.
Love y'all, be good, and if anyone else is down at Ben&Jerry's getting icecream, let me know what flavour you get.

OMG I'm going to be in a documentary!!

Hey everyone!! ^-^

How are you? Are my Aussie readers enjoying their holidays?

OMG, I'm totally going to explode with excitement at some point. XD So, I have something to tell you guys!!

Ok, so yesterday, after I went busking, my brothers, parents and I went dancing. So yeah, my parents did some dancing, I did some reading and the others ate food. :P
My friend Caitlan turned up, and I hung around with her for a while. Then I remembered that she'd asked my parents if she could make a documentary about us, but they had said no. I asked her, and she was "Oh my god, I forgot about that! Do you want to do it?" And I bounced up and down and said "Yes!!" So we high fived, and turned to my Mum, and asked for her permission. And she gave it!! Caitlan and I kinda bounced around happily.

So yeah!! I'm going to be in a documentary about me and my family, and it is going to be awesome. ^-^ I'm going to catch up with Cailan at some point so that we can talk about stuff for it.

OH MAH GOSH!!! I'm still sooooooooooooo excited!! XD Here, have a picture:

Ooh, look, it's the Ninja and Sensei Wu. ^-^

Which reminds me - I've made a banner for Spinj's Space!! It took me forever to make, but heh, I 'm pretty pleased with it. ^-^ Here it is:

What do you think? :D Do you like it?

I have to go now, I have a rehearsal to go to for Pirates of Penzance. Weeell, I don't have to go to them, they're actually the Guys' Chorus rehearsals, but I go because Dad is there. :P And I like showing off that I can do all my parts off-book. :P

Ok, gotta go. Love y'all, be good, and I'll see you in my next post!
