Hallo hallo!
How are you all? Did you have a good New Years? Did you get to watch some fireworks at midnight? Or did you go somewhere for New Years?
Well, I had a pretty cool new Years Holiday! My parents, siblings and I headed down to the country, and spent a few days with my friend Drew and his parents.
So we drove down to their holiday house on Tuesday. We kept stopping off little towns and getting out for a walk, but I didn't get out of the car for the whole drive, so I spent about 5+ hours sitting in the car. XD That was a very foolish thing to do... I got out of the car feeling terribly stiff. XD
When we got there there was a slightly awkward feeling, and I just kinda stood around trying to make myself as small as possible. We had dinner, then Drew took my brother and I for a walk down to the Pier. It was rather nice down there, but we couldn't see much in the dark.
The next day we got up early, so we went fishing. We didn't catch anything, and Drew, my brother and I got rained on. So we headed back to the Holiday House.
When we got back we had breakfast, then headed down to a Tree Walk place - I think it was called "Walking among Giants". I found my camera just as we got out of the car.
Here are some pictures of the walk:
1. I was like "Don't look down, don't look down...!"
2. I looked down again!
3. Wow, I reached the highest point!
I'm really scared of heights, so I was terrified being that high up in the air. I kept stopping, starting, walking as fast as I could, getting dizzy, and freaking out in general. :P So you can bet that I was really happy when I got to the end of the Tree Top Walk, with both my feet firmly planted on the ground.
4. The hollowed out base of one of the Tingle trees - I was now off the Tree Top Walk and walking in the "Ancient Empire" walk thing - it meant I could still walk among the trees, but with my feet on the ground.
5. A fairly dead tree, I should think - and it looks rather like Sauron's tower from Lord of the Rings in this picture.
6. Rather unusual mushrooms... :P
7. One of the fallen down trees.
8. A very big tree... :P
Well, we went home, and began making a Ginger bread house. It was very yummy and didn't last long...
We sat up late, as it was New Year's eve, and I think it was 1:30 AM by the time we all got to bed.
The next day we watched a movie, then went down to the beach. My parents had a chat to someone from Adelaide, then we drove to another part of the Tingle forest and walked through it.
12. I had to lie down on the ground to take a photo of this tree... :P
13. Look, it's the tree again!
14. Aww, some pretty flowers... :)
15. Another really cool tree. I love the way it curls!
16. I must send this to Steven Spielberg... :P
After that we headed down to Circular Pool. It was really nice there - peaceful, quiet and relaxing.
After that we went to an ice creamery and had ice cream. It was very yummy - better than normal ice cream! :D
Well, we were all very exhausted, as you could imagine. When we got back I collapsed on one of the couches and lay there. But I recovered a bit and we went fishing again. I nearly caught a fish, which was really exciting!
We went fishing again on the third (and last) day of our New Years Holiday, and I finally caught a fish. :P I was sitting on the Pier, wondering if I'd ever get a fish, when the fishing rod started getting tugs and the line began moving around in circles. xD When the fish was finally out of the water I was half freaked out and half fascinated. :P Here I am, with the fish being held in front of me (I didn't want to hold the fish):
The fish was very yummy - it was filleted by Drew and then cooked few minutes later in garlic butter.
After eating the fish we started driving back home. It was a long, but good, drive, and we stopped off along the way - and, unlike the trip to the Holiday House, I actually got out and stretched my legs.
Well, that was pretty much the entire holiday - and that wasn't even half of all the photos I took... :P
I have to go now!
Sparkles and Sunshine!
Spinj xoxo
